The Exploratory Mission to Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico was conducted from September 5 to September 8 of this year. This activity was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINEX) in collaboration with the Invest Guatemala Agency and the Free Zone of Industry and Commerce “Santo Tomás de Castilla” (ZOLIC).
The Guatemalan delegation met with officials from the Secretariat of Economic Development of Monterrey, the Guatemalan Consulate, businesspeople from the 4.0 clusters, agri-food, automotive, and home appliances, members from Invest Monterrey, and representatives of the Mexican Association of Industrial Parks-AMPIP. The benefits of investing in Guatemala, the tax incentives available to businesses who want to export their goods, the Guatemala Moving Forward Plan, and the successes in each working group were all discussed throughout the conversations.
The expedition also included visits to the industrial parks FINSA and the Innovation and technology park Metalsa to learn more about the finest practices already in use in Mexico.
Such missions put Guatemala at the forefront of consideration for businesses looking to expand into Central America, which benefits the nation’s technology, development, and ability to draw in additional investment.
