Methodology

The foundation of discovery

Before assessing talent, we understand the reality. The study is conducted using the GEM methodology, the most rigorous standard in development studies, ensuring that every figure is grounded in the social, housing, and economic realities of Guatemalan families. It is based on five fundamental pillars, capturing everything from the geography to the economic situation of each household.

Geographical location

22 departments and 200 municipalities across the country

Demographics

Citizens aged 18 to 64, by gender and age

Human resources

Educational background and current employment status

Skills module

The key differentiator

It’s not just about where they work. It’s about what they’re capable of doing.
The Skills Module provides a glimpse into the future of the job market in each region. We assess actual skills, categorized into seven strategic industrial sectors aligned with Guatemala’s fastest-growing industries.

Human talent

Sales, management, communications

English

Logistics, transportation, and automotive maintenance

Administrative and office tasks

Construction and heavy equipment

Molds, manufactured goods and textiles

Industrial mechanics and maintenance

How do we measure potential?

Skills assessment and training

We assess two complementary dimensions for each skill to understand not only what the person knows, but also how prepared they are to apply that knowledge in a real-world work environment.
