The government of Guatemala hosted the network of commercial counselors’ inaugural convention in an effort to boost the country’s economic and commercial diplomacy. The event’s itinerary featured cultural and educational events as well as meetings for the diplomatic representatives with different public and private enterprises.
On September 20th, an integration meeting with the 21 Trade Counselors who represent Guatemala abroad was held by the technical team of the Investment Attraction Board of the Guatemala Moving Forward Plan, or GTNSD as it is known in Spanish.
During this event, a workshop was organized to learn how to strengthen the collaborative effort in order to attract more and better investments to the nation, a conference took place to present the progress of the many roundtables that make up the GTNSD Plan.
It was also decided to strengthen contact between the team and the counselors to get speedier replies throughout the investors’ support process, as well as to offer ongoing training in the areas that were given priority.
As a result of the great working dynamic that has been established between the public and private sectors, this event marks a significant turning point in the promotion of investment.
